Water filter advice
« on: November 07, 2010, 10:12:28 AM »
I just moved into a new place and I want to get some kind of water filtration system. I don't want anything too expensive, and it must be something I can take with me if I move out because I don't know if I'll be living here more than a year or two.

What type of filtration systems do you/have you used in the past, and what do you recommend?

I've used PUR filters in the past, but I read recently that they've now added flouride to their filters!  Why on earth would they do THAT??

I have no experience with this filter but recently saw this article about it: http://www.naturalnews.com/030070_Big_Berkey_water_filter.html

It looks very good.

But what about the beneficial minerals? I did not see any thing about it, because there are some that get rid of many things as well as the minerals. What do you think?

How about this one:

The eSpringŪ Water Purifier improves the taste, odor, and clarity of 1,320 gallons of water, enough for a family of six to cook and drink with, for one year. The carbon-block filter allows beneficial minerals like calcium and magnesium to pass through. Learn more about water quality analysis through the National Testing Laboratories

I would appreciate your input on this one.

Thanks,

Claudia
