Recommendation for lab test for mold

I have an acquaintance who suspects they are infected by mold from their apartment. She has been to a variety of doctors over the past two years and they have not found a cause for her health issues. She suspects it may be mold. What labs tests are available and or recommended? Additionally, is there a test that is available to NCs or the public?

I know that you can have the house tested for mold and other air quality issues. 

Do symptoms resolve if she is out of her house for a period of time?
