Recommendations for H Pylori diagnosis
« on: January 22, 2012, 07:22:20 AM »
I'm working with a friend who just completed a course of antibiotics for h pylori. He is very discouraged, as we all know, it takes a lot time and the right treatment to rid yourself of this. Any recommendations on what foods, herbs, supplements that he can try to help this process along. He is currently taking probiotics and I'm working with him to change his eating habits.
Thanks.....Pamela Mahon

Pamela,
Patience and perserverance to manage H pylori-will take time & strength; this is a perfect example of the need to strengthen the system to manage the infection vs relying on the military approach of trying to wipe it out; H pylori is a crafty microbe; it is ubiquitious and highly communicable-so even if it is wiped out once, will re-infect; so what is it about this client that is vulnerable; the approach to manage this : make the body & Gi tract strong-with an E4H diet, special emphasis on GI healing foods-cultured foods, bitter foods, veggies, fiber foods; strong digestive enzymes, betaine HCL (H pylori compromises HCL-may need high doses of betine HCL-can try the beet juice test), probiotics-(super ones like Probiotic 225 by Orthomolecular Products); rule out food allergies and other Gi infections that are weakening the system (find someone who can do the testing); then can use supplements geared toward H pylori-I have used 2 supplement formulas by Apex energetics: H PLR and Gastro ULC-3 caps each, 3X/day, for 3 bottles, away from food if possible; can retest-stool is best; may need to alternate with other H pylori specific formulas; will take time but it can be managed
