News for NCs who order testing
« on: March 13, 2012, 12:33:30 PM »
I just received a letter from Metametrix, sating they are now requiring documentation of licensing in order to comply with laws regarding who can and can't order tests. There are two possible avenues for NCs for ordering: 1) By affiliating with those who are licensed and who can order tests for you; 2) If you're a Designs for Health customer, you can sign up with them to have them act as your ordering physician. This is the route I've taken. I have no idea yet if that allows us to order any saliva, urine, and bloodspot analyses we desire, or if it's only those offered through Designs for Health's customized panel.

If I had bothered to read the entire letter when I first opened it, I would have seen that there is one other option for NCs.   MMX.MyMedLab.com has offered to sign up any practitioner who needs an authorized ordering doctor. NCs can also have clients order tests directly from their site. I believe Directlabs.com also offers some Metametrix direct-to-consumer tests.
