Yesterday I tried soymilk in a large quantity for the first time in a soymilk latte.  It went down nice and I was excited by the fact that I enjoyed it so much.  BUT, this morning when I woke-up just about every joint in my body hurt and my stomach is in so much discomfort right now that the only thing I do is drink herbal tea.  I did a quick search and found that you can have delayed allergic reactions to soymilk similar to what I’ve described.

I’m wondering if anyone else have come across this type of allergic reaction and has any advise on how to get through this.  I’m keeping a journey and soymilk (12oz) was the only new thing that I’ve added in the past 2 weeks. So, I feel fairly certain it’s the soymilk.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Kaayla Daniel in her book THE WHOLE STORY describes symptoms exactly like you describe.

You might take digestive enzymes in between meals (those without HCl).

Why do you want to "get through" something you obviously do not respond well to?  Let your body be your guide.

Hi, Kimberley:
It's a good thing that you are so clearly able to see your reaction through journaling and the singular dietary change.  Now you know that your body doesn't like processed soy milk.  As your episodic symptoms diminish now, the thing to remember and to do is stay away from it! Thanks for sharing the story of this reaction with us.
