tofu factory in Oakland
« on: March 15, 2012, 06:30:25 AM »
There is a tofu factory in Oakland called Hodo Soy. Their products are sold in select farmers markets, Whole Foods, as well as in the Ferry Building.

I attended a tour of the factory and it was amazing to see how they make high quality organic tofu the old fashioned way. When you join the tour, they give out samples too so you can try different soy products and enhance your food repertoire. A great thing to consider on a rainy day or have a fun date with friends.

Thanks for your feedback. I hope you will get a chance to visit. It's pretty fun and educational. Kind of like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory but with tofu! Their website has more info.

I've worked in oakland for 16 years and never knew there was a tofu factory there. Thanks for letting us know. It definitely sounds worth checking out and supporting a local business that is also producing a healthy product.
