Erin,

Rupam Henry, an herbalist and former dental assistant, has a line of products for dental care.   She may carry tooth soap.

To others: Rami Nigel wrote a book based upon  his own experience as a father to avert cavities in his child.  It is along the lines of Weston A Price, maybe with an easier to follow process.

While reading Nori's response in the beginning of the discussion, I had a question regarding the suggestion of adding vitamin A to the diet.
It reminded me of an issue I read about dealing with the vitamin A that is added to conventional milk, claiming that we only need a minute amount of vitA and too much interferes with bone formation.
Can anyone expand on this?

would you mind giving me a recipe for a bone mineral broth? please.

i am looking for ways to restore the enamel on my teeth.
i cannot help but be distrustful of the frequent fluoride varnish treatment suggested by the woman who cleaned my teeth recently. (anyone have any information on that sort?)

i believe i eat quite healthy for a so far self-taught. i do not eat meat much at all- i know only to eat locally and trustfully raised animals, so there is only an occasional chicken dinner. but there are plenty of local eggs in my diet. i have a primarily vegetarian diet that includes various whole grains, non-rBGH treated cheeses,honey/evaporated cane juice, hot tea-mostly black, ... im partly thinking "out loud" incase of any suggestions that may arrise ????

The recent issue of Wise Traditions also has information about homeopathic remedies for caring for teeth.

brushing your teeth with soap, or tooth soap
you can use regular non scented soap
or you can buy tooth soap at grand lake farmers market
there is a woman there called Rupam she has a stall selling
herbal stuff and tooth soap she makes herself
she comes from 13 generations of natural dentists
so she really knows her stuff regarding diet and dental health.

Since deciding that I didn't want flouride in my toothpaste, I've done a little research about what I should be brushing my teeth with and have found that glycerin (in nearly all toothpastes) can coat your teeth after brushing and interfere with the natural re-mineralization process. I've switched to Tooth Powder from Rebecca's Apothocary in Boulder (http://shop.rebeccasherbs.com/browse.cfm/tooth-powder/2,55.html). It's a natural blend of Sea Salt, Baking Soda and Essential Oils of Myrrh, Peppermint, German Chamomile and Clove. My teeth and gums have never felt or looked beter!
